Our Heritage

The Motherhood Collective

Building an intentional sisterhood where Black immigrant women gather to exchange practical settlement knowledge, preserve cultural lineage, and raise thriving families together.

Founding Circle

Started Across One Table

In 2021, five mothers met around a modest kitchen table in an unfamiliar neighborhood. Between boiling pots of tea and nursing infants, we pooled rental advice, deciphered school enrollment forms, and shared the quiet ache of leaving family elders behind.

What began as informal Sunday exchanges became an organized network across multiple districts. We remain firmly led by the mothers walking this path, rejecting impersonal desks in favor of lived peer wisdom.

Our Conviction

No mother establishes roots in isolation.

We believe that shared maternal wisdom, cultural preservation, and collective solidarity build genuine resilience. Here, your accent, your parenting heritage, and your aspirations are celebrated as fundamental strengths.
